Cargil to expand its Davangere plant

Cargil India is planning to expand its facilities in Davangere in Karnataka. Currently, the company produces corn derived products like liquid glucose, maltodextrin and starches. It has a manufacturing capacity of 800 tpd which is likely to be increased to 1200 tpd. The project entails an investment of USD 40 million.

The company sources around 80% of corn from Karnataka and sources the rest from Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. It is also considering to export some of the corn products to Indonesia , Malaysia and Vietnam.

Corn derived products liquid glucose and starches are in great demand in bakeries, confectioneries and baby food products.
