Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB), the nodal body for industrial estates plans to develop new industrial areas in eight districts. These new parks are expected to be made available in 2022-23.
The new area will be developed in Harohalli as fifth phase in Ramanagara, Gauribidanur as third phase in Chikkaballapura, Madhugiri industrial area in Tumkur, Jakkasandra second phase in Kolar, Kuduragundi industrial area in Mandya, Arasikere industrial area in Hassan, Kadechur second phase in Yadgir and Obalapura industrial area in Bengaluru Rural.
Currently, the state has developed 188 industrial estates across the state so far with basic infrastructure facilities. The state government has released an amount of ₹ 525 crore under Critical Infrastructure Development Scheme to upgrade infrastructure facilities in old industrial areas.
