Nirani Sugars is planning to expand its existing distillery in Malapur village in Mudhol Taluk in Bagalkot district of Karnataka. The project involves expanding molasses based distillery production capacity from 120 klpd to 150 klpd and a cogeneration based power plant with a capacity of 5.0 MW.
The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1269 million. Land required for the project is already available. As of December 2018, the project is in planning stage.
