Karnataka Maritime Board is planning to develop Keni port as a deepwater port in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. It will build the port on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) model. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 41188 million.
In the month of Septembe 2022, the board has invited tenders for development of an all-weather deepwater greenfield port.
