Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) is planning to develop Baiyappanahalli railway station near the airport as a modern airport rail station with all amenities. It plans to invest around ₹ 250 crore to redesign its station with state-of-the-art facilities. It will have upgraded facilities like modern passenger information and display systems, security systems, fire safety systems, among others.
The building will be developed as a sustainable building, which will include natural ventilation, green spaces, abundant light with a new concourse area which will include waiting areas, cafes, restaurants, food courts, retail shops, kiosks, along with elevators and escalators. From the concourse area, mezzanine levels will be provided with retiring rooms and lounges.
