Karnataka government is setting up a fishery harbour in Kulai in Mangaluru taluk in Karnataka. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,960 million, of which around 45% of it will be invested by New Mangalore Port Trust, 5% from state government and the rest from Sagarmala project institutions. The fishery harbour will have a capacity to handle 350 boats and will spread across 11 acres. Breakwater construction will be taken up under the phase 1 of the project of which tenders have been awarded.
