Airports Authority of India (AAI) has started work on expansion of the terminal building at the Mangaluru International Airport. The expansion programme at a cost of ₹132.24-crore project is likely to be completed by April 2020. The new terminal will have a capacity to handle 730 passengers at a time. The existing terminal building has an area of 19,500 sq metres and the new terminal will add 11,343 sq metres at the international arrival area.
The investment programme will also add two more baggage conveyors at the international arrival area and another one in the domestic arrival area.
