NABARD sanctions ₹ 9350 million for rural projects

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs. 935-crore loan to Karnataka for improving infrastructure in rural areas during 2018-19. The amount has been sanctioned to implement rural area projects which include construction of mega marketyards in Rannebennur, Karatgi and Dasnapur.

The funds will also be utilized for infrastructure facilities in APMCS include 362 covered auction platforms and 148 godowns. Construction of 631.15 km of rural roads, 71 bridges and construction of 108 veterinary institutions (87 veterinary dispensaries, 17 veterinary hospitals and four polyclinics).

The sanctioned amount also include a drip irrigation project with a potential of 1,818.18 hectares and a drinking water project in Hassan district and providing infrastructure in 162 rural educational institutions.
